The National Art Museum of Catalonia is housed in a magnificent palace - a hallmark project of the 1929 International Exhibition – built on the Montjuïc Mountain, the quintessential museum centre of Barcelona. The MNAC covers all the arts (sculpture, painting, art objects, drawings, engravings, posters, photography collections, and numismatic collections) and its purpose is to elucidate a global discourse on Catalan art from the Romanesque period to the 20th Century.
