JOAN MIRÓ FOUNDATION

The Joan Miró Foundation is one of Barcelona’s best-loved museums. The building, designed by Josep Lluís Sert, offers the visitor a moment of calm and bliss: an experience of light and beautiful spaces. Located on the vantage point of the Parc de Montjuïc, it allows a spectacular view of the city. The building houses the most comprehensive selection of Miró’s work and organizes temporary exhibitions of artists from all over the world.

All through his life, Miró was particularly interested in a diversity of materials, shapes and colors. His artistic restlessness drove him to explore and experiment with a great variety of art forms, such as painting, sculpture, printing techniques, ceramics, the stage, and fabrics. His works are exhibited in the permanent collection of the museum.
