20/08/2009   We wish you a safe trip to Barcelona, where you are warmly welcomed to take part in the 60th EAAP Annual Meeting held from 24 to 27 of August 2009 in the Fira de Barcelona. We would like to stress that, exceeding the most optimistic predictions, the number of participants expected to attend the meeting may exceed the critical figure of 1,500 delegates. As a consequence, the Spanish Organizing Committee agreed with the EAAP to close the on-line registration facility on the website to give privilege to off-line registration of abstract authors. We apologize that the last registered participants will not receive a hard copy of the Book of Abstracts, but we remind you a PDF copy of the full proceedings can be downloaded free from this website (see Abstracts) or from the EAAP home page (www.eaap.org). Moreover, for easier and faster registration of the participants and to avoid long waiting queues on Monday 24, we recommend that you use the advanced registration period for collecting identity badges and meeting documents at the Registration Desk. These advanced periods are: Sunday 23 of August (15.00 to 19.00 h) and Monday 24 to Thursday 27 of August (08.00 to 08.30 h). Registration Desk will also be open during the meeting hours.

05/08/2009   A copy of the booklet programme edited for the participants in the 60th Annual Meeting of the EAAP can be obtained in advance from the new option included in the website menu (Programme > Programme booklet). A printed copy of the booklet will be also distributed to each participant at registration.

01/08/2009   The 2nd official announcement of the 61th Annual Meeting of EAAP, to be held in Heraklion (Crete Island, Greece) during 23-27 of August 2010, is already available in the official website of the 61 EAAP 2010 meeting (www.eaap2010.org)

31/07/2009   The final version of the 60th Annual Meeting of EAAP programme and a pdf version of the complete Book of Abstracts (e-book) are already available in the WAP website www.wageningenacademic.com

23/07/2009   Updated details have been added to the Programme (i.e. Meeting schedule, Scientific programme, Technical tours and Social events) and the Venue (i.e. General information and Session rooms) menu options of the Web.

23/07/2009   Last places in the Technical tours are available. There is no vacancy for Tours No. 1, 6 and 7. Attendees for Tour 7 are specially requested to confirm in advance if they will require a stop in the Barcelona Airport at 16.00 h. They will be contacted by e-mail by the Organizing Secretariat.

14/07/2009   Tourist tour for accompanying persons to PortAventura (Option B), programmed on the 26th of August, is cancelled because of the reduced participation. Visit to Girona & Dalí’s Theatre-Museum on the same day and timetable is maintained. We apologize for the inconvenient.

06/07/2009   A total number of 1,247 abstracts (497 theatre and 750 poster presentations) from authors of 60 countries were finally retained and will be included in the book of abstracts of the 60th Annual Meeting in Barcelona and produced by Wageningen Academic Publishers. A provisional version of the programme can be downloaded from www.wageningenacademic.com. Updated instructions regarding meeting registration, presentations and travelling details have been added to the Useful Information menu option of the meeting website.

01/07/2009   Instructions regarding the preparation of theatre and poster presentations for the 60^th EAAP Annual Meeting in Barcelona have been already submitted by Wageningen Academic Publishers to all the presenting authors of accepted abstracts. Additionally, a copy of this information is available in the Abstracts section of the Web menu.

26/06/2009   The Meeting schedule and the Scientific programme of the Programme option of the Web menu have been updated. Moreover, 2D Maps of the Palau de Congressos No. 5, in which the location of the Registration desk, Poster and exhibition area, Session Rooms and the Wi-Fi coverage of the venue is detailed, have been added to the Venue option.

10/06/2009   Hotel and University Residence reserved rooms will be unblocked by the Spanish Organizing Committee of the 60th EAAP on 30 of June. Note that the accommodation agreement at the special daily rates shown in the website refers to a limited amount of rooms.

05/06/2009   A new menu option (Venue/session rooms) has been included in the Web with the distribution of the sessions in the differents rooms and floors of the Congress Center.

26/05/2009   New contents have been added to the following Web menu options: Venue/General information, Satellites/Interbull, Programme/Technical Tours, Accompanying persons (option B), and Sponsors.

21/05/2009   The final version of the Scientific programme of the meeting has been uploaded to the website. New contents have been added to the following Web menu options: Programme/ Meeting schedule, Livestock/ Catalonia, and Technical tours/ Tour No. 8 (Botanic Garden of Barcelona).

21/05/2009   Prices for the Catalonia Plaza Hotel have been renegotiated and reduced. Moreover, registration fees for half day symposium now also include a copy of the meeting proceedings.

27/04/2009   The Scientific Programme schedule has been updated (although it might be subjected to further changes), as well as the members of the EAAP Commissions.

03/04/2009   Deadline date for registration of presenting authors in the EAAP Annual Meeting is May 31, 2009 as currently modified in the Useful info section of the website. Number of accepted abstracts per presenting author was limited to 3. Abstracts of non registered authors or exceeding the presenting author limit will not be included in the Book of Abstracts.

11/03/2009   Exceeding the more optimistic figures, the new format and the place chosen for the 60th Annual Meeting of the EAAP have received a great attention of the international scientific community. A total of 1,413 abstracts (987 corresponding authors and 6,042 authors) from 61 countries have been submitted to the Wageningen Academic Publishers database. The evaluation process of the abstracts is currently ongoing and corresponding authors will receive their revision or acceptance mails soon.

25/02/2009   Practical workshop S17 on "Writing and presenting scientific papers" opened the registration period: This is a practical workshop designed to improve the writing and presenting skills of participants. It is free of cost and limited to a selected number of participants. It will be led by Profs. Birgitta Malmfors, Phil Garnsworthy and Mike Grossman. No abstracts are accepted in this session and participants should attend for the full day. Participants must be registered for the 60th EAAP Annual Meeting and should register also for the workshop by mail to eaap2009@uab.es

20/02/2009   Online Registration is already available at the Registration menu option. Offline registration form is also available for those who, for any reason, can not complete the online registration process. In this case, the form must be returned by mail or fax.

04/02/2009   A new table with the Provisional Scientific Programme of the Barcelona meeting has been added at the Program/Sessions menu option.

29/01/2009   Abstract submission is opened and the deadline is March 1st 2009. For submissions, a link to the Wageningen Academic Publishers is available in the Abstracts section of the EAAP meeting website.

29/01/2009   Meeting registration can be done by using a pdf Registration form at the Registration section of this website. An online form will be available soon.

21/01/2009   New contents concerning Hotels and University Residences in Barcelona have been included in the Accomodation menu option.

22/07/2008   The EAAP 2009 Organising Committee met at FIRA buildings in Barcelona, in order to define different aspects of the organization of the "60th Annual Meeting of the European Federation of Animal Science".

10/06/2008   A new version of the EAAP 2009 Official Web is already available, with a new appearance and new contents in the following menu options: Organising and Scientific Committees, Meeting Programme, Registration Fees, “How to arrive” information, Scholarships and General Information of the City of Barcelona.

16/04/2008   The Organising Committee is meeting these days in Barcelona and visiting the venue installations in Fira de Barcelona.

13/03/2008   The EAAP Council met in Barcelona during 12-13 of March and approved the venue for the next 60th Annual Meeting 2009 in the "Palau of Congressos" of the Fira de Barcelona in Montjüic (Barcelona, Spain).
